I never really understood those people who spent hours in a coffee shop consumed by the word of God. How could they be that into the Bible? I’m not going to lie, it was a foreign concept to me to just sit down and read the Bible without a devotional or something telling me what to do. If I’m honest, I was quite jealous of all those perfect Instagram pictures those people posted of their quiet time. Good news: I now know how those people could spend hours upon hours, day after day studying the word. Even better news: I’m now one of “those people“. I not only read my Bible daily, I actually enjoy it! I don’t typically do my studies in a coffee shop and I haven’t mastered the perfect #devoinsta but I am no longer jealous of other peoples quiet time.
It is so important to spend quality time with the Father. If you don’t have a daily devotional or are in the market for a new one check out what I’m currently loving!
Devotionals I Love
I started the year just doing this devotional. It’s really good and sometimes relates to what’s going on currently.
Recently, I added this devotional to my daily quiet time and am in lovvvve with it! Lysa TerKeurst is an amazing and inspiring author.
I plan to do this devotional once I finish one of the others I’m into right now.
For the past 2 years, I have done this one. I’m honestly not even sure if I have read every single one so I will probably do it again in the future.
God, I pray that I never let anything come before you. Help me to never be too busy to spend quality time with You. Thank You for Your word and guidance. Amen.
